On April 10, 2013, Attorney Thomas J. Newell filed a lawsuit in Adams County PA on behalf of an Adams County pit bull attack victim.  The 6 year old girl had gone over to her neighbor’s home with her brother to play with a friend.  Defendant Richard Sprouse instructed her to open the front door and enter his home after she had knocked twice.  As she began to open the door, the defendants’ pit bull, Chaos, came out and attacked her.

PIT BULL #9The Adams County dog bite victim’s nose was partially bitten off.  She was rushed to Meritus Medical Center.  Surgeons re-attached the missing piece of her nose and also operated on the large dog bite wound to her right cheek.  The young girl returned to Meritus on 23 occasions to undergo 2 hour hyperbaric oxygen treatment therapy sessions.  Unfortunately, the physicians were not able to save the re-attached portion of her nose.

Surgeries 3 & 4 took place in June of 2012 and at least two more will be needed in 3 or 4 years.  The facial reconstructive surgeries are critical in restoring the natural appearance of her face.  Attorney Newell has represented PA dog attack victims in 17 different counties.  Call him today at 1-800-980-4842 to set up your free home consultation.  See his website:  www.PADogAttackLawyer.com.

Dog Bite PA Attorney Suggests PA Consider Potential California Law

On April 7, 2013, abcnews.com reported that Riverside CA government officials were considering a dog law that would require owners of all adult pit bulls and pit bull mixes to have their dogs neutered/spayed.  Breeders properly registered with the state would be exempt.

PIT BULL RUNNINGThere is significant veterinary research which establishes that dogs that are neutered/spayed are less likely to seek to run loose in the community.  “Altered dogs” also tend to be less aggressive.  Attorney Thomas Newell urges Pennsylvania lawmakers to consider a similar provision in order to protect public safety.
