Dangerous Dog Charges Filed vs. Pit Bull Owners

On Dec. 2, 2010, multiple charges regarding PA Dog Law violations were filed against a Pittsburgh resident. She is the owner of pit bulls that are allegedly terrorizing her Pittsburgh neighbors. According to wpxi.com, the pit bull owner was found guilty of harboring dangerous dogs by a district justice. An appeal was filed by the defendant and the case will go to trial in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

As a Pennsylvania pit bull attack lawyer I am familiar with situations where irresponsible dog owners cause injuries to totally innocent victims. Neighbors of this pit bull owner told the reporter that they are afraid to go outside because of these aggressive pit bulls. Pittsburgh police have cited the negligent defendant alleging a failure to properly restrain and register the pit bulls. Even if an appeal has been filed, the dog owner must comply with the PA Dog Law requirements regarding dangerous dogs.
