Attorney Newell Hired by Doylestown Area Dog Bite Victim

Posted on: November 29th, 2012       Attorney Thomas Newell

On Nov. 23, 2012, Attorney Thomas J. Newell was hired by a Doylestown Township dog bite victim.  Two weeks earlier, the Bucks County resident was inside his home when he saw a neighbor’s border collie running around on his front yard.  When he went outside, the dog ran back to its property.  As he turned to return to his house, the vicious dog attacked him from behind and bit him twice on his left calf.

The Doylestown PA dog attack victim was driven to Doylestown Hospital by his wife.  They gave him antibiotics and used a stitch to close one of the dog bite wounds.  His left leg swelled up and he had several visits with his family doctor.  He was forced to use a walker to help with ambulation as he couldn’t put a lot of pressure on his left leg.

Doylestown Township Police are investigating incidents of prior vicious propensities, including a previous attack on a Fed Ex deliveryman.  PA Dog Law violations of harboring a dangerous dog (3 P.S. § 459-502) and failure to confine (3 P.S. § 459-305) are expected to be served upon the negligent dog owner.
