According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) approximately 1,000 people die each year from bicycle accidents. Head injuries cause nearly 70% of the bicycle accident deaths. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that bicycle helmets reduce head and brain injuries by almost 85%.
