On April 20, 2010, an Ambler PA man was charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI and reckless driving after the March 17, 2010 death of a 13 year-old boy.  The teenager was riding his Razor scooter in his Lower Gwynedd Township neighborhood when the Montgomery County driver struck him.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said that the Defendant was high on drugs and driving 63 miles per hour at the time of the crash.  An accident re-constructionist determined that the driver went into the oncoming lane when he hit the scooter rider.  The motor vehicle left 165 feet of skid marks.  The driver was transported to Lansdale Hospital for a blood sample to be taken – which evidence was used in the criminal charges.
