Bucks County Pit Bull Owners Protest Proposed Ordinance

On Jan. 4, 2011, pit bull owners from Bucks County PA descended on a Bristol Council meeting to protest proposed regulations against pit bulls in the borough. There were 2 serious pit bull attacks in late 2010 which caused local politicians to examine appropriate remedies to this safety issue.

Under discussion is an ordinance that would require all pit bulls and pit bull mixes to wear muzzles while on public property in Bristol PA. Those in favor of the law argue that muzzles don’t hurt the dogs and could prevent serious injuries in case a pit bull attacks another innocent victim in Lower Bucks County.
