On Feb 1, 2011, a motor vehicle accident on I-476 shut down the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. According to The Reporter, a tractor-trailer jack-knifed in the northbound lanes of I-476 closing down the turnpike between the Mid-County and Lansdale Interchanges.
