On May 4, 2011, a Berks County PA driver was involved in an automobile accident on Old Route 22. According to The Morning Call, she tried to steer her car with her knees as she tried to light a cigarette. She hit a utility pole and then crashed into a wooden fence at 5361 Old Route 22. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the auto crash.
