On Sept. 14, 2010 a multi-vehicle car wreck on Rt. 202 in Lower Gwynedd Township resulted in 4 car accident victims being treated at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital. According to The Reporter, the auto accident took place just south of the intersection of DeKalb Pike and Sumneytown Pike.
Airbags were deployed in a Toyota Scion and Chevrolet Cavalier that were involved in the automobile accident. Route 202 was closed for approximately one hour to provide medical care to the victims and remove the damaged vehicles.
