On July 12, 2013, a woman lost control of her pick-up truck on Rt. 209 in Monroe County causing a 4 hour shutdown of the roadway. According to The Pocono Record, the driver hit a utility pole and a sign and then veered into oncoming traffic striking a SUV. Route 209 was closed to repair utility lines damaged in the crash. The negligent driver was taken to Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg PA.
