On March 28, 2012, a multi-vehicle accident shut down Interstate 78 outside of Allentown. As described in The Morning Call, a chain reaction crash on the westbound lanes of I-78 caused the closure of on-ramps at Lehigh Street and Summit Lawn (Route 145). No serious injuries were reported.
