On July 6, 2010 a one-car crash on Route 54 in Nesquehoning killed a Carbon County PA driver. According to the Morning Call, the 42 year old Nesquehoning driver lost control on Rt. 54, struck an embankment and flipped over. Route 54 was closed for 4 hours while the Nesquehoning Police Department, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police, investigated the fatal Carbon County crash.
