On May 11, 2011, a Hellertown PA driver faced criminal charges after he was involved in a serious car accident on Route 33. According to LehighValleylive.com, the Lehigh Valley resident was driving northbound on Rt. 33 near William Penn Highway when he lost control with his car flipping several times on the highway. One of his passengers suffered a fractured leg and serious neck injuries. Criminal charges include aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI.
