On Aug. 2, 2010, an East Stroudsburg motor vehicle accident victim died in a one car crash in Middle Smithfield township. According to the Pocono Record, a 68 year-old Monroe County resident lost control of his Ford Ranger pick-up truck and slammed into a tree. The truck burst into flames after impact. A passerby pulled the accident victim out of the truck, but he succumbed to his fatal injuries.
