On April 22, 2012, a car that was being driven northbound on Rt. 33 went out of control and struck a tree off the highway. According to lehighvalleylive.com, a 47 year-old driver from Pocono Lake PA hydroplaned on a rain-soaked Route 33 roadway. His 17 year-old daughter was treated for minor injuries.
