The PA pedestrian accident victim was properly walking off of the shoulder of the road against the flow of traffic. She was suddenly hit by a vehicle’s passenger side mirror. The pedestrian suffered a laceration to her elbow that required 6 stitches to close.

Montco Pedestrian Fatality Hit & Run Driver Identified

Posted on: May 6th, 2011       Attorney Thomas Newell

On April 28, 2011, the attorney for a 74 year-old Gilbertsville PA driver admitted that his client was driving a car that killed a Royersford PA pedestrian in Upper Providence Township. As described in the Philadelphia Inquirer on April 27, the pedestrian had just finished her shift at Kohl’s when she was hit on Township Line Road near the border with Limerick Township.

The negligent driver claimed that she did not realize that she had hit anyone until she arrived home and observed damage to her car. She called her adult children who contacted the police and her auto insurance company. The Montco pedestrian was taken from the scene of the accident to Pottstown Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced dead by the Montgomery County PA Coroner.

Stroudsburg Pedestrian Runs Into Car – Blames Driver

Posted on: January 28th, 2011       Attorney Thomas Newell

On Jan. 25, 2011, a woman parked her car on Main Street in Stroudsburg PA. According to The Pocono Record, she exited the auto and began to run across Main St., in neither a crosswalk nor at an intersection. The Monroe County pedestrian allegedly ran into a Hyundai Sonata and fell to the ground.

The East Stroudsburg PA driver got out of his car to assist the injured pedestrian. To his surprise, she handed him an insurance bill and requested he go to a nearby insurance office and “pay it for her.” Your Pennsylvania pedestrian accident lawyer reminds all pedestrians that the PA Vehicle Code requires them to cross urban streets at a crosswalk or intersection.

Teen Driver Charged in Montco Hit & Run Accident Fatality

Posted on: October 29th, 2010       Attorney Thomas Newell

On Oct. 27, 2010, a 17 year-old driver was charged with homicide by vehicle by the Montgomery County PA District Attorney’s Office.  The criminal charges allege that the teenage driver was traveling 79 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone in Upper Moreland Township.  As described on Philly.com, the reckless driver lost control of his VW Passat as he tried to make a left turn across oncoming traffic.

As a Pennsylvania pedestrian accident attorney, I have seen that dangerous decisions made by irresponsible people have disastrous consequences for innocent victims.  Here, the teenage driver lost control of his car, hit a sign and then crashed into a support column of a building at the intersection of York Road and Reed Street.

The PA pedestrian accident victim was walking on the Reed Street sidewalk when she was struck by the out-of-control car.  The 81 year-old woman was admitted to Abington Memorial Hospital where she died 3 days after this senseless accident.  Your PA auto accident lawyer has  consistently called for tougher restrictions on teenage drivers who frequently lack the experience and wisdom to routinely make prudent decisions while behind the wheel of an automobile.

If you or a loved one has been seriously injured by a negligent or reckless driver, I ask that you telephone me at 800-980-4842.  I provide a free home consultation.  For more details regarding my representation of PA car accident victims, please visit my website of www.NewellLaw.com.
