On Aug. 30, 2011, a 50 year-old woman from Philadelphia was attacked and killed by the family’s 5 pit bulls. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the pit bull attack victim died from severe injuries to her face and head. Neighbors reported that the dogs had been a menace for years and that they had called the police and SPCA multiple times to complain.
Witnesses claim that the pit bulls had escaped from the home earlier this summer and had attacked and injured at least 2 neighborhood residents. A week before the fatal attack, the PA dog attack victim had tried to open the front door when the pit bulls pushed their way out, knocked her to the ground and bit a pedestrian waiting at a nearby bus stop. She had multiple dog bite wounds to her legs, hip and hand.
