On July 26, 2012, Attorney Thomas J. Newell interviewed a relative of the Allegheny County pit bull attack victim who is still trying to recover from a 6/21/12 dog attack in the streets of McKeesport PA. On that fateful day, a teenager was walking an adult pit bull. The pit bull began to attack the woman’s Shih Tzu as she was walking it down the street.
The pit bull grabbed the little dog by its neck and tried to pull it away from its owner. The woman’s finger got stuck in the leash as she tried to get her Shih Tzu to safety. Approximately 15 stitches were needed to close the lacerations to her hand. The pit bull attack victim continues to deal with neurologic problems of numbness & tingling in her hand. If her symptoms do not improve, surgery may be necessary.
