On June 30, 2011, a 55 year-old motorcycle rider was rear-ended by a SUV on Interstate 380 in Monroe County. According to the Pocono Record, the Lehigh Valley biker was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson when he was hit by a 2008 Acura MDX on I-380 in Tobyhanna Township just before the Route 940 exit. The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike as it left the I-380 roadway. He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the crash site.
