An April 8, 2011 article in The Erie Times-News reported that a retired Erie area police officer pled guilty to drunk driving, vehicular homicide and other charges due to the August 8, 2010 fatal motorcycle accident which killed a Zelienople biker. Pennsylvania State Police reported that the former officer turned directly in front of the motorcycle causing the crash.
