On September 14, 2010, an East Stroudsburg PA motorcyclist died after an accident on Interstate 80 in Monroe County PA. According to The Pocono Record, the 53 year-old biker was hit by a Honda Civic driven by a Middle Smithfield Twp. driver. There are conflicting versions as to how the cyclist ended up on I-80 just before he was run over by the car.
The PA motorcycle accident victim died before Monroe County emergency medical personnel could arrive at the scene of the I-80 crash. Pennsylvania State Police closed both westbound I-80 lanes from 5:45 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. to investigate the accident scene. Initial reports of a possible hit & run involving a red Nissan sedan appear to be incorrect.
