On Nov. 5, 2011, a motorcycle rider died after a motorcycle accident on Route 309 in Hazle Township. According to The Times Leader, the 26 year old rider of a 2003 Harley-Davidson lost control of his bike on Rt. 309 and crashed into a brick business sign 200′ north of Hollywood Blvd. The ‘cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the Route 309 crash by the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office.
