On April 11, 2012, Attorney Newell spoke with the father of a teenage girl who was recently attacked by a pit bull in Monroe County PA. The young woman was walking her dachshund mix in the street when they were attacked by an unrestrained pit bull. The pit bull owner was renting a nearby property and allegedly accidentally left a gate open.
The Monroe County dog attack victim received medical care at Pocono Medical Center for a large laceration to her arm. The severity of her injuries caused her to be admitted to the hospital. Stroud Township police officers have turned their investigative materials over to Monroe County Dog Warden, George Nixon. Multiple citations for violating the PA Dog Law are expected, including harboring a dangerous dog.
