On 12/19/13, a reckless owner of three boxers from Dauphin County Pennsylvania was sued by Attorney Newell. His client had been pursued and attacked by the boxers as she was delivering a package in Dauphin County. Several months earlier, another Federal Express delivery person was pursued by these same unrestrained dogs.
On 1/10/13, the dog owner was found guilty by District Justice Rebecca Jo Margerum of violating both the PA Dog Law, as well as the Pennsylvania Rabies Prevention and Control in Domestic Animals and Wildlife Act. The negligent dog owner did not offer a valid defense to the charge of violating Section 305 of the PA Dog Law – Failure to Confine. He also did not produce any documents establishing that the boxers were up-to-date with their rabies shots.
