Rottweiler Attack Victim Has Third Surgery

Posted on: November 2nd, 2010       Attorney Thomas Newell

On Oct. 28, 2010, a young boy from Chester County PA had his third facial surgery after a vicious Bucks County dog bite attack in 2009. The child was visiting family in Levittown PA when the rottweiler, without provocation, mauled him. The Pennsylvania dog bite victim was rushed to St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA.

A plastic surgeon was called to the hospital to perform surgery on the 5 cm jagged laceration to the boy’s cheek. Approximately 30 stitches were needed to close the large dog bite wound. Your PA dog bite attorney was soon hired to represent the young child. For several months after the surgery, the dog attack victim was required to avoid all exposure to the sun.

Unfortunately, the facial scar widened and became raised. Ten months after the attack, scar revision surgery was needed. Scar tissue was removed and the bite wound area was smoothed out. The third and hopefully final surgery was performed in October of 2010. This 2nd scar revision surgery was needed to address problems not fully resolved by the Oct. 2009 surgery.
