Senseless Tragedy in Monroe County DUI Fatal Crash

On Nov. 2, 2010, an East Stroudsburg PA accident victim was killed by a Pike County driver who has been charged with multiple crimes concerning a possible DUI. As described in the Pocono Record, a 20 year-old Monroe County resident was making a left turn on Route 209 when he was rear-ended by an alleged drunk driver from Tamiment.

A Pennsylvania State Police investigation determined that the victim’s minivan was forced up a grassy incline and then flipped over. The innocent driver was taken from the scene of the Rt. 209 car wreck to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. The Lehigh County Coroner pronounced him dead after his admittance to the Trauma Center. His teenage passenger was treated at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, PA.

As a Pennsylvania car accident attorney, I have represented many personal injury victims who were injured in Route 209 accidents. The causes of these crashes vary. Sometimes it is speed, other times it is alcohol consumption. Many Route 209 crashes are caused by drivers following too closely behind other cars that are turning into one of the many businesses along Rt. 209. This fatal accident needlessly took the life of a 2008 honors graduate from East Stroudsburg High School.
