Criteria included analysis of aggression to its owners, strangers & other dogs. Researchers cautioned that not all dogs in each breed will have the same personality of aggressive tendencies.
The following breeds were viewed as being the most dangerous: pit bull, chow, Akita, Giant Schnauzer, Papillon, Rottweiler, German Shepherd, Llasa Apso, Miniature Pinscher, Chihuahua, Dachshund and Jack Russell Terrier. People are advised to avoid dogs that are chained, abandoned or are new mothers with puppies.
