York County Pit Bull Owner May Face Criminal Charges

Posted on: February 1st, 2011       Attorney Thomas Newell

A Jan. 26, 2011 non-jury trial in York County was postponed by the York County District Attorney’s Office. The DA is considering whether to charge a Hanover PA pit bull owner with several crimes as a result of the savage dog attack upon an 8 year-old boy on June 1, 2010.

The defendant had been found guilty of harboring a dangerous dog by District Justice Dubs. The pit bull owner filed an appeal and requested a trial regarding the alleged PA Dog Law violations. A final decision regarding the potential criminal charges is expected shortly.
